Who sells ads in iOS apps

Every developer site in the catalog is checked for app-ads.txt, the developer's own list of who may sell its ad space, and each account is matched to the network's sellers.json.

143,561
developer sites checked
44,039
sell ads with their own account
5,128
developers whose sites sell ads while their apps' labels declare noneA reason to look, not a finding.

Most common networks with a direct account

  1. Google AdMob 42,582 developers
  2. Meta Audience Network 10,772 developers
  3. AppLovin 9,722 developers
  4. Unity Ads 9,429 developers

  6. Magnite 8,308 developers
  7. InMobi 7,780 developers

How a score is made

  1. 1

    Read

Each privacy label is read exactly as its developer declared it, in Apple's three groups.

  2. 2

    Weigh

Every distinct data type counts once per group. Tracking weighs most: that data follows you across other companies' apps and sites.

  3. 3

    Rank

The total is scaled against the most a label could ever declare, to a score from 0 to 100.

  • Track × 10
  • Linked × 4
  • Not linked × 1.5
score = 100 × Σ (weight × distinct data types) ÷ 248
A 0–7
Little or no declared collection.
B 7–19.25
Limited declared collection.
C 19.25–35
Moderate declared collection.
D 35–52.5
Heavy declared collection, typically with tracking.
F 52.5–100
Declares collection across most of the taxonomy, including tracking.

A higher score means an app declares collecting more. The letter is a band on that scale, not a verdict on the app.

Declared, not verified

App Store privacy labels are self-declarations made by each app's developer. They are not verified by Apple, and they are not verified by this site. A high score means an app declares collecting a lot — not that it was caught doing anything.

  • A missing label is never a zero

An app whose label could not be read is left out of the ranking, not shown as collecting nothing.

  • One published formula

The weights and grade bands live in one place. The scorer and the pages that explain them read the same numbers.

  • Nothing is overwritten

Earlier captures are kept, so a label that changed shows up as a change.
